NPSTN To-Do List
2020 Q2 Update: The below items represent potential next steps for the network. This does not mean they will be implemented, added, or incorporated in the near future. This list is not being actively maintained or updated.
- Shazam-like dialable service (play music excerpt into phone, announce song name, artist, year, etc.)
- Coin Trunk Project
- IC board (e.g. Raspberry Pi or Arduino) to collect or return (apply proper voltage) based on MF-detection, and potentially perform other functions as well
- 3-slot detection of gongs, but prefer live operator for long-distance calls from 3-slot phones
- Extract ACTS audio from TOPS ROM dump, then swap audio files
- Incorporate full TSPS MF control
- Need to add "Return" subroutine which will "empty" the "hopper" (decrement count of money in hopper, then send Return MF to empty hopper)
- Distinguish between deposited (collected) and currently in hopper, and make sure that the proper amount gets billed
- On hangup, answer, deposited = deposited + hopper, and on no answer, deposited = deposited, and hopper gets returned
- TSPS collect to collect at appropriate times, per NSP 200-100-101 on coin trunks
- Project MF 2.0
- All features of original Project MF 1.0
- Correct supervision at all times
- Support for MF and SF signaling
- Operator Brian
- Expand 112 to allow for person and collect calls
- Coin long-distance (station, person, and collect)
- Allow for handling 1NPA calls using operator keyset (w/ proper ticketing)
